An Estonian bank payment button that confirms the payment directly in your own online bank — used at casinos for instant, card-free deposits.
A bank link (Estonian: pangalink) is a payment method offered by Estonian banks — Swedbank, SEB, LHV, Luminor and Coop Pank. In the casino cashier you pick your bank's logo, log in to your online bank and confirm the amount; no card details are ever entered and the money moves straight from your bank account.
How does it differ from Trustly? Trustly is an international payment service that bundles many banks into one interface, while a bank link is each bank's own solution. At an Estonian casino both lead to the same result — an instant deposit directly from your bank account without a card. Some casinos show both options, some only one.
For withdrawals the casino returns money to the same bank account the deposit came from. How fast it lands depends on the casino and its checks.
In a genuine bank link flow you are redirected to the bank's own environment, and the login and confirmation happen there. The casino itself never asks for your online banking username, password or Smart-ID or Mobile-ID codes. Before confirming, check three things on the bank page: the address bar shows the bank's real domain, the amount is the one you entered at the cashier, and the recipient is the payment provider or the casino, not an unknown private person.
Fake bank link pages are used to steal login details; the article on fake bank link pages shows how to spot them. For the general mechanism of this kind of fraud, see Wikipedia: Phishing.
Because spending is clearly visible on the bank statement, it also helps you keep track of how much you spend at casinos; use limits as well. A general comparison of payment methods is on the page payment methods on freespin.ee. Concept background: Wikipedia: Online banking.
