What Trustly actually is
Trustly is not a wallet where money sits. The money moves from your bank to the casino and, on a withdrawal, back again, with Trustly acting as the intermediary. In terms of the European Payment Services Directive (PSD2) it is a payment initiation service: you give consent at your bank and the bank makes the transfer. What to check in practice
- that your bank is on the casino's list of supported banks, for example on the LHV or SEB casino pages;
- that your own bank's limit does not restrict the deposit: if the bank's daily limit for online transfers is, say, €1,000, you cannot deposit €1,500 in one day;
- that the withdrawal goes to the same bank account the deposit came from and that the account is yours;
- that you see the right amount and recipient in your bank before confirming.
Common mistakes
Trustly does not make a casino trustworthy or licensed: the licence has to be checked separately. Another mistake is entering online banking details on a page that merely looks like a bank link; enter them only at your own bank's login and watch the address.
