How many times you must wager the bonus amount before you can withdraw. E.g. a 35× requirement on a €100 bonus means €3,500 in bets.
A wagering requirement shows how many times the bonus, or the bonus plus deposit amount, must be played through before a withdrawal. For example, 35× means the qualifying amount must be bet 35 times before cashing out.
It's one of the most important terms, because it strongly determines a bonus's real value and risk level.
Deposit €50, 100% match so the bonus is €50, requirement 35×. If the requirement applies only to the bonus amount, you must wager 35 × €50 = €1,750. If it applies to deposit plus bonus, the turnover is 35 × €100 = €3,500. The same "35×" can mean two very different amounts of work, and the difference sits in a single sentence of the terms.
Turnover does not mean you spend that much of your own money: the same balance keeps circulating and every spin counts again. The real cost is the theoretical loss on the turnover. On a slot with 96% RTP and €1,750 of turnover that is €1,750 × 4% = €70, more than the €50 bonus. Time matters too: at €1 per spin it is 1,750 spins, and with spins lasting five seconds that is about 2.4 hours (1,750 × 5 s = 8,750 s). These are averages and real results vary a lot, but the calculation shows why a lower multiplier and a requirement applying to the bonus only are important. You can work out the time cost yourself with the playthrough time calculator.
Wagers count towards the requirement, not winnings. The game contribution is usually highest on slots and lower or zero on table and live games. At a 10% contribution a €1 bet counts as €0.10, and meeting a €1,750 requirement would need €17,500 of bets. The exact numbers are in the bonus terms; never guess them.
If meeting the requirement starts to feel like an obligation rather than entertainment, it is worth stopping and asking for help at the Gambling Addiction Counselling Centre. More calculations are in the Pangakasiinod.ee guide to calculating wagering requirements and, from the crypto angle, in the wagering fine print. For the bonus itself, see the bonus term.
Example: a €100 bonus with a 35× requirement means €3,500 of bets. If the requirement applies to bonus + deposit, the amount is even larger.
Look in the terms for a number like 35× — that's the wagering multiplier.
Check whether the multiplier applies to the bonus, or to the bonus + deposit.
Slots often contribute 100%, table games less or not at all.
The requirement must be met within the validity period, or the bonus expires.
Generally yes — a lower multiplier means fewer bets. But also look at the maximum payout and game weightings, as they affect the outcome too.
Games with a low house edge (e.g. blackjack) often contribute only partially or 0% towards wagering, so the bonus can't be exploited risk-free.
