A situation where the casino refuses to approve a withdrawal request, usually because of incomplete checks, bonus terms or a payment method problem.
A withdrawal rejection means that the casino has reviewed your withdrawal request and decided not to approve it. The money does not move to your bank account but usually back to your casino balance, and the transaction history shows a status such as “rejected”, “declined” or “cancelled by the casino”. A rejection should not be confused with a withdrawal reversal, which is initiated by the player.
Most rejections relate to checks or terms, not to bad faith on the casino's part. The most frequent reasons are:
These cases are described in more detail in the post withdrawal rejected: what to do.
If the money stays in your casino balance after a rejection, do not use it to play again until the situation is clear. Otherwise the dispute may become more complicated and the win may disappear.
If the reason for the rejection was technical, such as a wrong account number or an expired document, the situation is usually resolved quickly once the gap has been fixed. If, however, the casino refers to a breach of the terms, ask it to name the specific clause and explain which action breached it. A precise reference helps you judge whether the decision is justified and is also needed if you later turn to the supervisory authority.
For a casino licensed in Estonia, supervision is carried out by the Estonian Tax and Customs Board. The casino's obligations are set out in the Gambling Act. For a casino licensed in another country, you need to contact that country's regulator, whose name and licence number are usually shown in the footer of the casino's website. That is why it is worth checking which licence a casino holds before you play. Casinos licensed in Estonia are gathered on the page casinos with an Estonian licence.
A casino may cancel winnings generated from bonus money if the bonus terms have been broken, and this must be stated in the terms. Confiscating deposited money and winnings obtained without breaking the terms, without a clear basis, is not normal practice, and in such a case it is worth contacting the supervisory authority.
Once the reason has been resolved, for example KYC has been completed, subsequent withdrawals usually go more smoothly. Repeated rejections for the same reason, however, may lead to additional checks on the account.
Withdrawal problems can cause stress. If you notice that you are playing more to win back losses, read the responsible gambling page or contact a counsellor at 15410.ee.
