A Swedish payment service that lets you pay at a casino and receive money back directly via your bank account, without a card or an e-wallet.
Zimpler is a payment service from Sweden that lets you make deposits at a casino and receive withdrawals directly through your bank account. You do not need a card or a separate e-wallet: you approve the payment with your bank's authentication, and the money moves to and from your bank account. In essence Zimpler is similar to Trustly, although it is a separate company and product.
Zimpler relies on open banking, which is based on the European Payment Services Directive PSD2. In the casino cashier you choose Zimpler, then your bank, and approve the payment in the bank's environment, for example with Smart-ID. Zimpler initiates the payment from your account and lets the casino know the money is on its way. Some casinos also use Zimpler in a quick-registration model where the account is created based on bank identification, similar to the Pay N Play solution.
The company's own description of its services and supported countries is on the Zimpler website. Whether Zimpler is available in Estonia for a particular casino and bank depends on the casino's agreements, so check the casino cashier for the payment methods offered to you.
A Zimpler withdrawal travels back to the same bank account the deposit was made from. This meets the same-method rule and reduces the need to enter account details manually. The withdrawal time still consists of several stages:
The payment service itself cannot speed up the casino's decision. If the casino processes withdrawals only on working days, even the fastest payment method will not help at the weekend. You can assess withdrawal speed by making a small test and noting the times; instructions are in the article test withdrawal.
If a withdrawal is late, start with your casino account: is the request still pending, has it been approved, or have documents been requested from you? If the casino confirms that the money has been sent, ask for the transaction date and reference. Only then is it worth contacting the bank or the payment provider. This order saves time, because most delays arise on the casino's side, not in the payment service. If the problem drags on, keep a written record of all communication; it helps if you later need to file a complaint.
Zimpler operates as a payment service provider under European supervision, and you always approve the payment in your own bank's environment. Zimpler does not see your banking passwords. Even so, always check that you are on the right page and do not approve payments you did not initiate.
Both use a bank account and open banking. The differences lie mainly in the countries, banks and casinos they have agreements with. Read about Trustly withdrawals in the guide Trustly withdrawal.
A simple, fast payment also makes a new deposit easy. Set yourself limits and, if needed, see the responsible gambling page or 15410.ee.
